Activity 1 - Introduction to terminology

  1. Research and write a description for the terms below. Your descriptions must be typed up and must be no longer than 3 sentences for each term. If thee are multiple definitions for words, e.g. discrete, then it must be the statistical version of the word (45 mins)

  • Qualitative

  • Quantitative

  • Discrete

  • Continuous

  • Primary data

  • Secondary data

  • Population

  • Sample frame

  1. Provide an example of each of the terms above. You must provide your answer using a full sentence e.g. An example of a qualitative piece of data is the colour of a car. (15mins)

  2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of primary data and secondary data. You can provide your answers to this using bullet points (15 mins)
