This week's learning is on printing effects:

Task 1:

  • Watch these two video clips.

  • You should explain the different types of printing effects.

  • Highlight some 5 tier words in your explanation.

Task 2:

Answer the following questions:

  • What is UV varnishing?

  • Give two advantages of laminating?

  • What are the disadvantages of oil-based varnish?

  • How is the Coat of Arms embossed onto a card?

  • What is the difference between foil blocking and digital foil stamping?

  • What are the disadvantages of lamination?

Task 3:

Can you state three things that you have learnt today.

If you wish to do some cooking at home, this website has a selection of wonderful dishes which can be filtered to your age range and the time you have available. Remember to take some photos of your final dishes and e-mail them over!

Learning intentions

  • To be able to practice drawing in oblique view.

  • To be able apply this skill in drawing an educational gadget for a young person.

Total study time: 2 hours

Task 1

This week's home learning is practising/drawing in oblique view.

Watch this video clip and follow the steps, practice drawing in oblique view. You will need an A4 piece of paper, a pencil and may use a set square and a ruler if you have them available.

Task 2

With the skill learnt in task 1 you are required to draw an educational gagdet, for a teenager of any gender.

Task 3

Describe the steps in drawing in oblique view. Use at least 30 words and complete sentences in your description.
