6/7/2020:

From the feedback I have received from many of you this last week, I am going to give you another week to complete the task of adding colour, as many of you have requested more time on this. If you have finished the task, there is an extension task below.

Task 1: You are to add colour to the drawing you did last week . You can do this in either pencil crayon, paints or oil pastels. Please do not use felt tips.

Your colours need to be bright and bold, but still realistic with tone an shadows.

You could also have a go at adding highlights to your work as mentioned in the video.

Extension task: You are to draw a sweet wrapper using a pen. This is more challenging as you cannot rub out, and you will have to create tone by crosshatching instead of shading.

22/06/20:

This week you are to create an accurate drawing of your sweet wrapper collage, focusing on size and scale. This should be done in pencil.

You are to make sure that:

  • The whole page is covered.

  • You are really looking at your collage and drawing exactly what you see and not from memory.

  • Things are in the right place and the right size.

  • Try the 'grid method' shown in the video.

Please do the outlines only as you will be adding colour to this next week.

Success criteria:

  • Neat - Use a sharp pencil and try not to smudge your drawing.

  • Accurate - This means that your drawing looks like the collage. All wrappers and in the correct place and the correct size.

  • Detailed - Include all large details on your wrapper. You may wish to leave off any small text.

15/6/20 learning:

This week you are to create a collage of food packaging considering composition and colour.

You are to make sure that:

  • The whole page is covered.

  • Everything is stuck down securely.

  • You use a variety of different colour packaging.

  • You are to use a variety of different sized packaging.

You may do this on any size paper.

Please note that next week you are going to be drawing from these.
