Year 10 Performing Arts

Week beginning 20th July

This week's video seminar

Scroll down for this week's tasks.

Learning intentions

  • To develop your creative, performance and evaluative skills whilst undergoing a range of Performing Arts challenges.

Total study time this week: 2 hours

Office hours

If you have any questions or need support, we will be running a live email Q&A at the time shown below.

  • Teacher: Mrs Karim

  • Office hours: Wednesday 4-5pm

You can also email your teacher at any time.

Tasks to be submitted by 4pm on Friday:

  • Your point score and completed challenges.

The Performing Arts Challenge Grid

This week your work in Performing Arts is a little different - I want you to challenge yourself with The Performing Arts Challenge Grid.

Watch the loom video above and choose which of the Performing Arts Challenges you are going to undertake. Each have been given a different number of points and in year 10 I want you to aim to achieve at least 8 points. Obviously if you wish to really challenge yourself and complete more of the tasks that would be awesome! You could even continue to work on the challenges over the summer break.

Tips to Link with your BTEC Performing Arts Work:

  • You could base an original piece of drama on the Mock component 3 Task so script a scene for your 'Blank Canvas' performance. This could be a monologue for one of your characters that you then perform your household - you could even ask somebody to film you performing and then self evaluate your performance.

  • You could re-watch the RSC's performance of Macbeth which is available on BBC iplayer. this could help you further develop your presentation task.

  • You could perform a scene from Macbeth to your household for instance the 'Tomorrow speech' when Macbeth has just found out that Lady Macbeth has died can be found here. You could ask someone to record you and watch yourself back to evaluate yourself.

Send me your point score and completed tasks by the deadline 4pm Friday 24th July.

Well done for all your hard work this term - I look forward to seeing you after the summer break.

Mrs Karim
