We have starting a new topic called global issues. First part of this topic was the environment. In this lesson you will think about what it means to be poor and homeless.

Complete all the tasks outlined below.

Access German foundation textbook via Kerboodle as this work will be on pages 118 and 121.

1. Read through the comments people have made about their lives in exercise 1.

a) Match the person with a picture. (10 mins).

b) Read through the comments again and answer the questions in 1b) in English (5 mins).

2. Read through the first box on page 119 and take notes. In exercise 2, complete the sentence with indefinite pronouns (10 mins).

3. Read through the box “Anticipating what you will hear” and take notes. Listen to the people in exercise 3 twice. Match the people with the pictures (10 mins).

4. Imagine you are poor. Write three things about your situation using the yellow box (10mins).

5. Go to p.120 and read through the article. Complete the statements (15 mins).

6. Read through the bix and complete the sentences in exercise 2 with this knowledge (10mins).

7. Translate the paragraph into English in exercise (10 minutes).

8. Translate the paragraph into German in exercise 5 (10 minutes).

9. Imagine you are either a refugee or don’t want to be at home anymore. Describe your daily routine using the box in exercise 6 (10 minutes).

Revise the vocab from “allein” until “wiederkommen” on p.125 (15 mins)
